The Malone football team, led by third-year head coach Mike Gardner, is having an even better year than last year and currently has an NAIA national ranking of 13th with a record of 6-2. The Pioneers recently picked up a huge win over NAIA #12 St. Xavier (IL) University 27-23 and also posted a victory over rival Walsh University 24-21, which was Malone’s third straight win over Walsh. With one win in its final two games, Malone will very likely earn its first NAIA postseason berth since 1998 (and the third in the program’s history).
